DOOMFOXX: Former ROSE TATTOO Guitarist To Perform New York City Showcase
July 6, 2005Australian hard rockers DOOMFOXX, featuring former ROSE TATTOO guitarist Mick Cocks, have reportedly been asked by a senior executive at influential U.S. music magazine Billboard to perform an exclusive industry showcase in New York this July.
Currently in Germany on the "Aussie-Invasion" of Europe as special guests of Australian rock legends ROSE TATTOO, DOOMFOXX are signed to Blast Records in Australia, and on the strength of their EP, have just signed a deal with German record label Armageddon Music/Soulfood/Sony.
Billboard Executive Editor Tamara Conniff met with DOOMFOXX Manager Richard Cartwright at MIDEM earlier this year, and immediately undertook to present and showcase the band in the USA.
"I get a lot of stuff across my desk and haven't heard anything this good in a long time… I'm going to break this band in America," said Conniff.
DOOMFOXX perform a U.K. showcase on Wednesday, July 6 at The Metro, London, then head to New York. The U.S. Billboard showcase is to take place at The Knitting Factory on July 26, before the band return to Europe to play Wacken Open Air, where they are booked to play four sets across four stages.
DOOMFOXX's single, "Piece of Me", has been released to coincide with the European tour. A full-length album will follow later this year.
